How to Install the Mini Door/Window Sensor on Different Window Types

The Mini Door/Window Sensor is a compact yet powerful component of your Abode security system. Its small size makes it ideal for windows where space is limited, but proper installation is key to ensuring reliable detection. Whether you have casement, sliding, or double-hung windows, this guide walks you through the steps to install your sensor correctly.

Before you begin, gather the sensor, the included Double-Sided Sticker, and a clean cloth. Ensure the window and frame surfaces are dry and free of dust. The sensor consists of two parts: the main body (transmitter) and the magnet. For windows, the magnet should be attached to the moving part and the sensor to the fixed frame.

Installation on Casement Windows

Casement windows open outward via a crank. The gap between the window and frame is usually narrow, making the Mini Door/Window Sensor an excellent choice. Attach the sensor to the window frame (fixed part) and the magnet to the window sash (moving part). Ensure the alignment marks on both parts are within 1/2 inch of each other when the window is closed.
